Not Bad BJJ (a service of notbadbjj, LLC, "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through notbadbjj.com and our member portal, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Contact us with questions at info@notbadbjj.com.

What we collect

• Contact info — name, email, phone number, and (when volunteered) date of birth and an emergency contact.
• Waiver signature — a timestamped record showing that you accepted the training waiver, plus the IP and browser that submitted it.
• Membership + attendance — plan, payment history, class check-ins, and belt promotions.
• Photo — only if you upload one to your member profile.
• Communications history — the emails and text messages we send you, and any inbound replies.

How we use it

Solely to run the gym and communicate with you about your training:

• Verify that a valid training waiver is on file before you step on the mat.
• Bill your membership and record your payments.
• Track class attendance so coaches can support your progress.
• Send account notifications by email and SMS (class cancellations, waiver renewals, retention check-ins).
• Answer questions you send us.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your phone number or email with third parties for marketing.

SMS specifics

By providing your phone number and consenting on the trial-signup form or at the front desk, you agree to receive account-related text messages from Not Bad BJJ. Message frequency is variable and typically 2 to 4 messages per subscriber per month. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt out any time by replying STOP to any message from us. Reply HELP for help. To resume messages after opting out, reply START. Your opt-out choice is recorded on your member profile and will suppress every future automated message from us. We do not share opt-out data with third parties.

Third-party services we use

To deliver the site and the portal, we rely on the following processors. They see the minimum data they need to do their job and are contractually bound not to use it for anything else:

• Amazon Web Services — hosting, database, email delivery.
• Telnyx — SMS delivery. Phone numbers are passed to Telnyx only to send you the specific messages you consented to receive.

Kids

For members under 18, a parent or guardian provides consent, adds the minor to a family plan, and is the point of contact for all account notifications. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 without a parent or guardian.

Retention

We keep member records for as long as your account is active plus a reasonable period after cancellation to comply with tax and legal recordkeeping. You can request a copy of your record or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@notbadbjj.com.

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, send a notice to active members.
